Dreamily we rub the sleep out of our eyes and off we go to the wonderful world of Symphonic Dark Metal from Beyond The Dream hailing from Jyväskylä, Finland. This former STALKER Fresh Act has now self-released its already third album and thank God in this case symphonic metal doesn´t mean warbling caterwaulers but straight-out-of-hell, mean Manson/Cradle Of Filth vocals. When it comes to the metal part the boys dare to make little detours to different genres – sometimes they kick it up a gear, then we´re taken back to more gloomy realms – everything nicely accompanied by theatrical keyboard sounds. Definitely a captivating mix, which I haven´t really heard before. The band itself seems to have a clear vision of their music, design and image as well. All in all I have to say that usually I´m very critical but with this record I couldn´t come up with anything to bitch about. And that alone is already something!
